Comedy Central comedian Daniel Tosh’s Tosh.0 will have another three seasons. This contract extension will keep Tosh and his show in the network through 2020. Season ten of the show is set to air on March 27th (Tuesday). Tosh.0 itself is viral themed show. Meaning that the show focuses on internet culture. It gives an outlet to viral videos.
Tosh.0 started in June 4, 2009, and it is one of Comedy Central’s longest running shows. After breaking records its freshman year, the show remains one of the network’s highest rated programs. Tosh.0 has aired (so far) for nine seasons. Tosh has something called “Web Redemption.” This is when some of the most embarrassing videos get a second chance to redeem themselves.
Tosh said, “Knowing when to move on in show business is highly overrated.” Comedy Central president Kent Alterman then added, “I know it makes Daniel uncomfortable to publicly acknowledge our love and affection for each other, but we couldn’t be more thrilled to extend our relationship with him.”
Tosh.0 is executive produced by Tosh, Charlie Siskel, Nick Malis, and Christie Smith. Monika Zielinska is Comedy Central’s executive in charge of production.
Extending contracts for comedians has happened a few times in the comedy world. Comedy Central signed Trevor Noah through 2022. TBS signed Samantha Bee for another two seasons and Conan O’Brien till 2022. NBC did the same with Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers, both signed through 2021. CBS did both Stephan Colbert and James Corden through 2020. ABC will have Jimmy Kimmel to 2019. Also, John Oliver is signed through 2020 with HBO.
