It would appear that the journey of Ahsoka Tano, played by Rosario Dawson (The Lego Batman Movie, Free), has just received a major update regarding the release of its second season. According to Collider, it was revealed at this year’s D23 , that the second season is scheduled to begin streaming on Disney+ on January 20,2027, and will have some new faces in the form of Rory McCann (Game of Thrones, The Damned), who will take the mantle of Baylan Skoll, previously played by the late Ray Stevenson (Thor, Canary Black).
According to Collider, this isn’t the first time that Ahsoka has appeared in live-action, as she first made her appearance back in The Mandalorian, in which she has fought Mando, played by Pedro Pascal (Fantastic Four: The Next Steps, The Last of Us), but quickly became allies. The first season ended with Ahsoka and Sabine, played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Society, Day Shift), stranded on Peridea; the escape of Thrawn, played by Lars Mikkelsen (Headhunter, Frankenstein); and Ezra, played by Eman Esfandi (King Richard, The Inspection), finally regrouping with the rebel forces.
While specific plot details for the upcoming second season remain under wraps, it has been confirmed that Hayden Christensen (Life as a House, Start Wars: Episode 2 – Attack of the Clones) will return as the Force ghost of Anakin Skywalker. In this role, he will continue to guide and mentor Ahsoka. Collider, reports that fans are speculating the season may feature multiple intersecting storylines. Earlier this year, series showrunner Dave Filoni (Star Wars: Rebels, Star Wars: The Clone Wars) revealed that the upcoming season will feature higher stakes, signaling new dangers ahead for the protagonist and her allies.
With explosive new battles and unresolved cosmic mysteries awaiting the countdown on the second season has begun. While audience await on the highly anticipated season to drop, the prior first season of Ahsoka is available to stream on Disney+.
