Comedy Central’s ‘Meltdown With Jonah and Kumail’ Ending After 3 Seasons

Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani are ending their comic book store backroom comedy showcase.

In a post made this past Thursday on The Meltdown With Jonah and Kumail‘s website, it was announced that both the live show and the taped Comedy Central show are coming to an end. The final Meltdown show will be on October 19th at 7:30 pm.

“When we started this thing in 2010, we only wanted a fun place to do comedy and hang out with our friends,” said the Meltdown team. “We never imagined how much we’d get out of this experience — we’ve gotten ridiculous memories, we’ve gotten three seasons of a TV show on Comedy Central, and we’ve gotten the best damn audience on the planet. Putting on a weekly show for your wonderful faces has been an honor, and we love you all indefinitely. ”

The Meltdown With Jonah and Kumail filmed the live comedy show that Ray and Nanjiani hosted in the back of L.A’s Meltdown Comics every Wednesday night. The show featured stand-up, sketches, and backstage footage of comedians in the green room. The Comedy Central series has played host to Steve Agree, Andy Daly, Adam Pally, Gil Ozeri, John Mulaney, Brett Gelman, Eugene Mirman, Eric Andre, Paul Scheer, Rob Huebel, Lauren Lapkus, Aparna Nancherla, Jenny Slate, and Michael Ian Black.

Deadline reports that Comedy Central released a statement about the news and said, “As the live show is coming to an end, we’ve mutually agreed to make this the third and final season of The Meltdown With Jonah and Kumail. We look forward to working with Jonah, Kumail and Emily on future projects.”

The series is executive produced by Ray, Nanjiani, Emily V. Gordon, and Red Hour’s Ben Stiller, Debbie Liebling, Stuart Cornfeld, and Mike Rosenstein.
