CBS Show ‘Tracker’ Renewed For A Second Season

Tracker, the CBS series starring Justin Hartley (This is Us, Smallville, Revenge), has been renewed for second season, The Hollywood Reporter reported. The series first debuted on Feb. 11 after the Super Bowl, and it has received 16 million views, according to the Nielsen list, on both TV and streaming. Now, it’s also ranked as the number one show on the same list.

Amy Reisenback, president of CBS Entertainment, stated, via The Hollywood Reporter, that Tracker is one of the most-watched shows, and the network hasn’t received this large number of views since Young Sheldon was released in 2017. She stated, “Tracker kicked off our premiere week with a ratings bang and has kept the momentum going. We knew we had something special when we saw the very first cut of the series and the overwhelming audience response confirms it. We couldn’t be more grateful to Justin, the talented cast, the incredible writing and producing teams, and our partners at 20th Television for such compelling episodes. And, of course, we’re also so thankful to the millions of viewers tuning in each week.”

Tracker, according to The Hollywood Reporter, used to be known as The Never Game, and it’s based on a novel written by Jeffery Deaver.  Development began in late 2021, and CBS gave the green light to order it as a series in late 2022. This renewal is a positive sign as many shows from CBS are concluding, such as Blue Bloods, Bob Hearts Abishola, SWAT, and Young Sheldon.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Elwood Reid (The Chi, The Bridge, Barkskins), Ken Olin (Women at West Point, Bay City Blues, Hill Street Blues), Hartley, and Ben Winters (Legions, World of Trouble, Golden Winter) are executive producers of the show. Tracker is part of CBS’ 2024-25 broadcast cycle and it’s the first show to be renewed.

The first season of Tracker is available for streaming now on CBS.
