CBS Shall Feature Original Episodes Of ‘NCIS’ In Its Autumn Schedule, Along With Paramount+ Australia’s Spinoff ‘Sydney’

NCIS: Sydney is the overseas spinoff for CBS Studios’ global drama franchise, marking the first of its kind. It was commissioned by Paramount+ Australia and Australian network, Network 10, last year. Exclusive to Paramount+ Australia, NCIS: Sydney will premiere on November 10th, followed by the US premiere on CBS on November 13th, which will see new episodes released each week.

NCIS: Sydney is due to air on CBS on Mondays at 10 PM, succeeding a rerun of its parent show flagship series at 9 PM. The timeslot, formerly referred to as “Paramount+ original TBA” in CBS’s revised autumn schedule issued in July, had been earmarked for NCIS: Sydney. The delay in announcing the inclusion of the show was attributed to the negotiations that were required to make it possible. Preceding the arrival of NCIS: Sydney on the 10 PM slot and aiding in conditioning viewers to the period, from late September onwards, will be re-airings of NCIS: Hawai, which is already available at 9 PM on the day.

According to Deadline, Amy Reisenbach, CBS Entertainment’s President, stated that “NCIS is one of the most preferred shows globally, and we’re overjoyed about broadening this franchise with a uniquely Australian twist. By adding NCIS: Sydney, our studio and network reach is continued to be possible in this captivating world that has proven to delight viewers on linear and streaming outlets for over 20 years. Set against the exquisite Australian backdrop, the new series will incorporate the high-stakes mystery, humour, and fellowship that have kept fans spellbound by the numerous NCIS teams for more than two decades.

NCIS: Sydney, starring Olivia Swann and Todd Lasance, known for their roles in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Spartacus: War of the Damned respectively, will be available in all international markets of Paramount+. Its run in the United States will be on CBS, while a few recent episodes will be streamed by Paramount+.  Marco Nobili, EVP and International General Manager, Paramount+, expressed that bringing NCIS: Sydney to Paramount+’s worldwide market illustrates the strength of One Paramount in uniting content and platforms. The franchise presents an exciting new chapter, introducing novel characters and remarkable settings to the ardent NCIS fan base, broadening its influence, and accomplishing its goal of catering to global audiences.
