CBS Reveals Fall Schedule But Where Is ‘Limitless’

Another day, another network releasing their television schedule for the fall season. CBS released their fall schedule on May 18, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The network, which is anticipated to be the most watched network again this year, has some schedule shakeups when it comes to its returning shows and features two shows from Friends alumni on the same night.

But as the new schedule gets released, fans are wondering where Limitless is on the schedule as CBS has yet to officially renew or cancel the show. According to Variety, a potential second season of the show won’t air on CBS, but is being shopped around to other networks or to an online platform. CBS Entertainment chief Glenn Geller confirmed this, saying “Right now we’re in discussions with other potential buyers.”

One of the potential places the show could end up is CBS All Access, the streaming site where CBS has all the episodes of all of their shows. CBS is looking to amp up its digital presence on its streaming service with The Good Wife spinoff starring Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo airing on the streaming service.

As Limitless gets shopped around, CBS has released the timeslots for new and returning shows, including many veteran shows that are on the move. Starting on Sunday nights, NCIS: Los Angeles has moved to the 8 p.m. slot and Madam Secretary will take over The Good Wife‘s timeslot at 9 p.m. Elementary will keep its 10 p.m. slot it held once CSI: Cyber finished its run.

Monday nights will feature Kevin James’ new show Kevin Can Wait, getting a (hopeful) ratings boost from The Big Bang Theory while the show airs Monday nights while CBS has football Thursday nights. The show centers around Kevin James’ character, a retired cop who has to learn how to stay home during the day.

CBS will also feature a Friends reunion of sorts. Matt LeBlanc’s new show, Man With a Plan, will air Mondays at 8:30 when Big Bang moves back to Thursday starting in late October. The show centers around LeBlanc’s character who becomes a stay-at-home dad and gets to know his kids more as his wife goes back to work. Matthew Perry’s show, The Odd Couple, will have its third season premiere in the fall. Scorpion is on the move as its third season will be on at 10 p.m. Monday instead of its 9 p.m. timeslot.

And while Michael Weatherly’s last episode of NCIS aired on May 17, his fans won’t have to see him again. His new drama, Bull, will air Tuesday nights at 9 p.m., airing directly after NCISBull focuses around Dr. Phil (yes, that Dr. Phil) in his early days as a trial consultant.

Wednesday’s schedule remains the same as it did last fall, with Survivor leading off the night, followed by Criminal Minds and the returning Code Black, which was renewed for its second season on May 16, according to TVLine.

Once football ends in October, Big Bang will lead off the night, followed by Joel McHale’s new comedy The Great Indoors, which focuses on a reporter who gives up his on-the-go lifestyle to take a desk job at a magazine. Mom and Life in Pieces will be on after that, with new drama Pure Genius, a show about a millionaire who funds a vet clinic that does somewhat risky procedures. The show will air in the 10 p.m. timeslot.

On Friday, the rebooted MacGyver will lead off the night in the 8 p.m. timeslot and the returning Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Bloods will round out the night.

Premiere dates for the new and returning shows have yet to be announced, with the exception of the Thursday night shows, which will return on October 27.
