CBS Renews ‘The Big Bang Theory’ For Three More Seasons

According to TVLine, CBS truly showed its faith on the comedy this Wednesday, by renewing it for three more seasons.

It was no surprise that The Big Bang Theory was renewed, since it is, after all, the most watched and the highest rated comedy on air nowadays. But it was surprising indeed that CBS decided to renew it for three more seasons.

This means that the highly popular comedy will be airing until, at least, the 2016/17 season, when it’ll reach its 10th season. That is a special number not achieved by many shows and really reflects the huge success the show has brought into the network.

“This multi-year deal further strengthens our network’s position for future seasons and marks another chapter in the great partnership CBS enjoys with Warner Bros. Television for delivering audiences the best in comedy,” said Nina Tassler, CBS Entertainment chairwoman. “We’re proud to work with and showcase the incredible talents of Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro and this amazing cast every week.”

TBBT‘s amazing numbers add up to almost 20 million viewers per episode and a 6.1 demo rating.
