According to Variety, Mia Challis (Outer Banks, 40 Dates and 40 Nights) and Hayley Griffith (Kinda Pregnant, Jack London’s Marin Eden) join the cast of CBS’s new comedy pilot, Regency. Regency is a multi-cam comedy pilot. Griffith and Challis join Rhys Darby (The Sheep Detectives, Phineas and Ferb), who will also star in the comedy. Darby was announced as the first cast member back in December 2025 when the pilot was ordered.
Variety mentioned that the logline of Regency as, “a historical spin on the classic multi-cam family sitcom, centered around the upper-middle class Tillbrooks as they navigate life, love and scandal in 19th century England.” Challis will be portraying the character Wilhelmina Tillbrook, the youngest Tillbrook daughter. Innocent and yet stubborn, Wilhelmina would rather climb a tree than to attend a formal tea party. Challis is repped by 42, Stewart Talent and Moore Creative Artists in Australia. Whereas the oldest Tillbrook sister, Maureen, will be played by Griffith. Maureen Tillbrook is proper and poised, returning to her home in Hartford Park with her only son, Dougie, with a scandalous secret. Griffith is repped by Gersh and Marilyn Zitner Management.
Variety noted that Tara Hernandez (The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon) is the writer and executive producer of Regency, which will be backed by Warner Bros. Television. CBS has several shows primed for the next season including the two current pilots, Regency and the vampire comedy, Eternally Yours, from Joe Port (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Me, Myself and I) and Joe Wiseman (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Me, Myself and I). The network also has the new Robert and Michelle King (The Good Wife, BrainDead) legal drama, Cupertino, starring Mike Colter (Evil, Plane) and Renee Elise Goldsberry (Girls5Eva, Hamilton) and the delayed Einstein with Matthew Gray Gubler (Criminal Minds, Alvin & the Chipmunks). Renewed shows for the upcoming season include Elsbeth and Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage .
