As summer TV plugs along, broadcast networks are readying their fall schedules. According to Deadline, CBS has unveiled their 2024-25 season premiere dates. Highlights include an array of dramas, comedies, and unscripted fare along with the final episodes of the police drama, Blue Bloods, and the highly anticipated reboot of Matlock, starring Kathy Bates (Misery, Disjointed).
On the scripted side, viewers will prepare their goodbyes to the Reagan family as the final episodes of Blue Bloods will begin on Friday, October 18, via Deadline. It will hold the 10 p.m. slot following the surprise eighth season of S.W.A.T. and the third season of fireman drama, Fire Country.
While Friday is reserved for crime procedurals, Thursdays will be evenly split. According to Deadline, comedies Ghosts and the Young Sheldon spinoff, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, will occupy the first hour at 8 p.m. on October 17. The next two hours will see season two of Elsebth and the season premiere of Matlock, which will have a special preview in September.
Tuesday, October 15, will remain loaded with Dick Wolf’s (Law & Order, L&O: Criminal Intent) FBI universe. Deadline reports season seven of the original series will premiere at 8 p.m., followed by International and Most Wanted in their fourth and sixth seasons, respectively. Mondays are another mixed bag, with NCIS‘s 22nd season and new prequel series, NCIS: Origins, sharing space with season seven of The Neighborhood and the new Wayans-and-Wayans sitcom, Poppa’s House.
Sundays will see the return of Justin Hartley’s (Smallville, This Is Us) Tracker and Queen Latifah’s (Star, The Last Holiday) The Equalizer during the NFL season, which may impact air times, according to Deadline. Viewers can expect both series to return to their regular time slots by November 3.
For unscripted, Deadline reports CBS’ veteran competition series, Survivor, will embark on its 47th season on September 18. It will also introduce a new series, The Summit, on September 28 with hopes of a football-lead in.
