Another host for The View has decided to hit the road.
For a program that’s been instilled in the daytime talk show circuit since 1997, The View has experienced quite lot of turnover for its hosts. Raven-Symone announced her abdication from the series back in October to focus on a reboot of the children’s show she starred in, That’s So Raven. Variety reports that Candace Cameron Bure will be following in similar footsteps, leaving the talk show to focus on her own revived children’s television show (Fuller House on Netflix), in addition to other commitments with Hallmark and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries cable networks.
Candace had been a regular on The View since 2015. However, the actress continued to commute between the East Coast (where The View is filmed) and the West Coast, where her family is rooted, leaving her stressed and ready to make a final decision. Candace was gracious during her announcement on Thursday, thanking Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, and the team behind the scenes of The View.
In light of these numerous host changes, The View is planning on changing the current format slightly. Instead of the eight hosts The View currently employs for its latest season, the show is instead sticking with six co-hosts. Although the program gets occasional flack for the numerous voices it features, The View did receive higher numbers than CBS in total viewers and female viewers between 25 and 54, as well as 18 and 49.
