‘Bridgerton’ Wraps Filming For Season Two And Aims To Be Released Next Year

Netflix’s smash hit TV show Bridgerton officially wrapped its filming for season two over the past weekend, via Deadline. The news was announced by the creator and showrunner of the series, Chris Van Dusen (Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal), where he posted a photo captioning “That’s a wrap on season Two”.

Other than declaring a wrap on season two’s filming, Dusen hints that season two will be coming in 2022. He also addressed that the work over the past year hasn’t been easy, stating “So proud of this cast and crew who brought their A-games to work each and every day in this very challenging year.”

In the photo, Dusen was hugging two of the lead actors, Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley. They play the roles Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma in the show. Before Bridgerton, Bailey was casted in TV series such as Broadchurch and Crashing.  Ashley also had a role in Broadchurch, while she is also known for her role Olivia Hanan in Sex Education.

Bridgerton centers on the stories among the eight close-knit siblings of the powerful Bridgerton family. The story sets in the 19th century of London. The first season contains eight episodes. Season two will pick up from what’s left at the end of season one. According to Nicola Coughlan (Derry Girls), one of the main actors of the show, the season two premiere has already aired for cast and crew earlier this month.
