Bonnie and Clyde: Dead and Alive premiering tonight on the History Channel, A&E and Lifetime

The History Channel, A&E and Lifetime are teaming up to bring back a classic tale of crime and romance. Since last Summer, rumors have been spreading about the creation and casting of the new Bonnie and Clyde: Dead and Alive miniseries.

Indiewire reveals that the dynamic duo of Bonnie and Clyde will be played by the Borgias’ Holliday Grainger and “Into The Wild”’s Emile Hirsch. The same article reveals that Holly Hunter, William Hurt, Sarah Hyland, Elizabeth Reaser, Lane Garrison, Austin Hebert and Dale Dickey will also be part of the cast.

The miniseries consists of two, two-hour long episodes. The four hour production has a lot to live up to, many doubt that it can hold a candle to Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty’s performance in the 1967 film.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the miniseries is directed by Oscar nominee Bruce Beresford and executive produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.

Bonnie and Clyde: Dead and Alive will air simultaneously on the  History Channel, A&E, and Lifetime in a two night even starting tonight (May 23) and resolving on May 24.
