Teen Wolf returns to MTV with a third season

MTV released the first full trailer for season three of the hit series Teen Wolf on Monday, and it appears fans are in for a wild ride. “This Might Hurt” seems to be an appropriate tagline, and based on the promotional material, this season looks as though it will be much darker than the previous two. The arrival of a pack of Alpha werewolves promises to stir up trouble in Beacon Hills, placing Teen Wolf’s central characters directly in harm’s way.

The trailer hints at intriguing developments for a number of existing fan favorites: new relationships, shifting power dynamics and greater authority for the series’ protagonist, Scott McCall, played by Tyler Posey. “Don’t stop them. Lead them,” Seth Gilliam’s Dr. Deaton advises, a suggestion that may prove to have dire consequences. Scott’s condition by the trailer’s end is sure to have fans on the edge of their seats, eager to see what will happen next.

Fans are provided with first looks at a host of newcomers in addition to the series’ returning characters. Gideon Emery portrays the Alpha leader, Deucalion, Felisha Terrell’s Kali, Brian Patrick Wade’s Ennis, and twin werewolves, Ethan and Aiden, played by Charlie and Max Carver round out the rival pack. Previous cast members Gage Golightly and Colton Haynes, however, will not be returning for the show’s third season.

MTV will air an hour-long Teen Wolf special on May 27. A marathon of the second season will begin at 10 AM on June 3, followed by the premiere of season three at 10 PM.
