‘Blood of Zeus’ Season Two: The Battle of Gods and Man Heats Up With First Look

According to Netflix, the series follows a young man, Heron, who learns he is an offspring of Zeus, the God of sky and thunder. With knowledge of his birthright, Heron then learns he is tasked with protecting the world from a demonic force. As if an army from hell is not enough, Heron must also battle Zeus’s wife, Hera, who vows revenge after learning of the Greek god’s infidelity. Hera allies with Seraphim, a demon leader, to plot against Heron.

At the end of season one, Heron discovers that Seraphim, his sworn enemy, is his twin brother, which makes Heron’s fight for good more complex. The second season will focus on some other gods such as Hades, as he sets his agenda in motion. The season will also follow Hera after she fled Olympus. There is also a possibility that some of the gods will try to aid Heron on his journey.

The series stars Derek Phillips (Chicago Fire, Possession) as Heron, Elias Toufexis (Pluto, Star Trek: Discover) as Seraphim, Fred Tatasciore (Team America: World Police, Kung Fu Panda 2) as Hades, Jessica Heniwck (Netflix’s Iron Fist, The Gray Man) as Alexia, Jason O’Mara (The Man in the High Castle, Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D.)  as Zeus, Mammie Gummer (The Lifegaurd, Side Effects) as Electra, and Claudia Christian (Babylon 5, Hexed) as Hera.

The series creators Vlas and Charles Parlapanides (Death Note) loosely based the show on Greek mythology, reflecting the flawed lives of the mythological human-like gods. The upcoming season is sure to throw new obstacles for Heron and Alexia, as they venture on.

According to Netflix, the season is scheduled to air on Netflix on May 14, 2024. While fans are eagerly awaiting the release, in the meantime they can go back and watch season one, to have a refresher.
