Blake Shelton’s Seat To Be Filled By Reba McEntire on NBC’s ‘The Voice’

According to E! News, Blake Shelton’s departure from The Voice will be filled in by none other than country legend Reba McEntire.

After 12 years of being a consistent coach on the hit singing competition show, Blake Shelton has decided his time to leave after declaring Season 23 of The Voice to be his last in October. Shelton was the only remaining judge of the original lineup from the show’s debut in 2011. He has described the show as having “changed my life,” one of those changes being his meeting with Gwen Stefani when she became a fellow coach on the show, in which they will later end up getting married in 2021.

The 46-year-old country singer has stated that he did consider taking his leave of the show during the early days of COVID. However, not wanting to abandon the crew, he stated that he would “stay here until the world kind of gets back to normal again.” His upcoming plans regarding what he shall do post-coaching life, Shelton has inquired that “a little bit of nothing would be nice.”

Hence, The Voice fans can be excited to welcome to the show Reba McEntire in her coaching chair. Her presence is not foreign to The Voice, as she performed as a mentor for Season 23. Her entrance onto the show was announced on May 15th by The Voice‘s network NBC. McEntire will be amongst the other returning coaches on the show, including Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Niall Horan. Reba McEntire’s presence will fill in the country music gap Blake Shelton will leave behind as she with her acclaimed songs such as Does He Love You and I’m a Survivor. Her Grammy-worthy reputation will definitely bring something exciting as she begins her journey as the new coach on the show in the fall.
