HBO’s acclaimed period drama, THE GILDED AGE, is back for another season. HBO announced in a press release that the fourth season of the series will premiere Nov. 1.
Season four of THE GILDED AGE will be eight episodes. Alongside the announcement, HBO included a teaser trailer for the upcoming season.
The season four logline foreshadows the conflict that the women of the series will face in the upcoming season. After Bertha Russell, played by Carrie Coon (The Leftovers, Gone Girl), changed society at the end of season three, she and her family must deal with the cost of such a transformation. Agnes Van Rhijn, played by Christine Baranski (The Good Fight, The Good Wife), takes the opportunity to reclaim her position. Meanwhile, Marian, played by Louisa Jacobson (Materialists, The Sitcom Trials), carves a new path for herself, and Peggy, played by Denée Benton (Genie, Dreams in Nightmares), faces the challenge of winning over her future in-law’s acceptance.
Julian Fellowes (Downton Abbey, Belgravia) created the Emmy-nominated series. Fellowes and Sonja Warfield (Real Love, Liv and Maddie) also write for the series and are executive producers. Salli Richardson-Whitfield (Task, The Wheel of Time) directs the series and executive produces along with Gareth Neame (Downton Abbey, The 7.39), David Crockett (Task, Unstoppable), Bob Greenblatt (Boot Camp, Bombshell in Concert), Kate Churchill (Anniversary, Holland), Davita Scarlett (The Good Fight, Evil), and Elaine Aronson (First Wives Club, You Me Her). Erica Armstrong Dunbar (Emancipation, Philadelphia: The Great Experiment) and Holly Ryman (Succession, Jessica Jones) co-executive produce.
