The kitchen is open once more. According to The Hollywood Reporter, FX just released trailer for the second season of their popular show The Bear ahead of its June premiere. The FX-produced Hulu series will premiere on June 22nd and will pick up where the first season ended. Watch the trailer below.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the second season will follow Carmy after he decides to close up his family’s Italian beef joint in Chicago and open a new restaurant. With the help of Sydney and Richie, they planned to open the new place in six months, which means dealing with menu planning, remodeling the place, and the bureaucracy that comes with opening a new restaurant in the city.
The Bear stars Jeremy Allen White (Shameless, The Birthday Cake) as Carmy Berzatto; Ayo Edebiri (The Sweet East, Mulligan) as Sydney Adamu; Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Andor, Girls) as Richie Jerimovich; Abby Elliott (Cheaper by the Dozen, Search Party) as Natalie ‘Sugar’ Berzatto; Lionel Boyce (Hap and Leonard, Loiter Squad) as Marcus; Liza Colón-Zayas (Cat Person, Allswell) as Tina; Matty Matheson (Craig of the Creek, Workin’ Moms) as Neil Fak; Edwin Lee Gibson (Unprisoned, Rounding) as Ebraheim; and Oliver Platt (Chicago Med, 2012) as Uncle Jimmy. Molly Gordon (You People, Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty) is joining the cast for season two in recurring part, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, she seems to be playing a person from Carmy’s past.
The popular show was created by Christopher Storer (Sense of Urgency, Ramy), who also executive produces for the series. Joanna Calo (Hacks, BoJack Horseman), Super Frog’s Hiro Murai (Station Eleven, Atlanta), Josh Senior (Swallowed, Whiling), and Matheson executive produce alongside Storer. The Bear comes from FX Productions and counts Tyson Bidner (The Whale, Ramy) as a producer of the show.
The Bear follows Carmy, a young chef from the fine dining world, as he returns to Chicago to run his family’s Italian beef sandwich shop. The second season will see Carmy take on a bigger responsibility: opening a new restaurant. Together with Sydney and Richie, Carmy must transform the grimy joint, strip the restaurant down to its bones, and create something new that will attract the attention of diners.
The second season of The Bear is set to premiere on June 22 on Hulu. The popular first season of the show is available to stream on Hulu.
