Big Stars Set for NBC’s ‘Maya & Marty’ Premiere

Maya Rudolph and Martin Short have a solid set of celebrity guests for the first episode of their NBC variety show.

Maya & Marty has guests Tom Hanks, Larry David, Jimmy Fallon and Miley Cyrus set for the premiere of their variety show, which is set to air at 10 PM on Tuesday, Deadline reports. Along with Rudolph and Short, Maya & Marty will also feature SNL and All That alum Kenan Thompson as a regular.

The variety series from Rudolph and Short is set to air on NBC each week from the network’s 30 Rockefeller Center headquarters in New York. The variety series will feature comedy, which Short and Rudolph are known for, as well as musical performances. Rudolph and Short both serve as executive producers on the series along with Lorne Michaels, Matt Roberts, Erin David, Dave Becky and Marc Gurvitz. The series was originally called Maya and Marty In Manhattan.

Maya & Marty is not the first time the two comedians have worked with one another. They both appeared in Paul Thomas Anderson’s (Rudolph’s husband) recent adaptation of the Thomas Pynchon novel Inherent Vice. Rudolph portrayed Doc Sportello’s (Joaquin Phoenix) secretary Petunia Leeway. Martin Short chewed up the scenery in his darkly comedic turn as coked-out dentist Dr. Rudy Blatnoyd.
