‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ Reunion With All Original Cast Has Been Confirmed

The Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot has been confirmed, and fans are in for a surprise. Nearly the entire original cast has agreed to take part in the new series, produced by CBS TV Studios.  Tori Spelling, who played Donna Martin on the original series, spilled the beans last March on her Instagram and has been at the forefront of promoting the new series.

According to Spelling, “It’s not technically a reboot, because I feel like everyone has seen the reboot. We don’t want to be the last ones like doing the reboot thing, and no one wants to see like old versions of ourselves, but they do want to see us playing our characters, so what we’re doing is the entire cast is playing heightened versions of themselves,” Spelling explained in an interview. “Think Curb Your Enthusiasm episodes, in an hour-long show, and we’re all playing heightened versions, so it could be fictional, it could be non-fictional, people will have to guess. And then we will have pop-ins, because we’re behind the scenes trying to do the reboot.”

Other former 90210 cast members set to take part in the revival include Jennie Garth, Jason Priestley, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green and Gabrielle Carteris. Luke Perry, who played Dylan McKay  on 90210, will make an appearance when time allows, but due to his role as Fred Andrews on Riverdale,  he will not be as prevalent as in the original series. Concerning this reunion, Spelling revealed “it is the O.G. crew back together, and we are playing a heightened version of ourselves. The fans will be pleasantly surprised because we will intercut that with scenes from the show.” Shannen Doherty, 90210’s Brenda Walsh, also has not responded as to whether or not she will return. However, Spelling added that “we would love to have her on.”

The Beverly Hills, 90210 reunion series will be written and executive produced by Mike Chessler and Chris Alberghini, who produced the CW’s 90210 back in 2008. No company has yet announced who will pick up the new series, but a deal is expected soon.
