‘Bad Boys’ Gets a Spinoff TV Series in the Works for NBC

NBC has ordered spinoff television show for the movie Bad Boys. As of right now the show does not have a title; however, the star of the show will be Gabrielle Union. She is retaking her role from Bad Boys 2 as Sydney “Syd” Burnett. While in the movie Union was seen in Miami, the show will take place in Los Angeles, California.

The plot of the potential show is Syd (who was a DEA agent in the movie) now has a fresh start in her new job as an LAPD detective. Her partner is Nancy McKenna. Nancy is a working mom who has a “grass-is-greener” envy because of how much freedom Syd has in the show. Both characters have totally different lifestyles and approaches, but they both are at the top of their fields. Just like the movie, the show is expected to be action packed and be character driven.

Union is expected to also be an executive producer for the show coupled with her starring in it. She will be joined by Jerry Bruckheimer Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reed, Jeff Gaspin (former NBC Universal Television chairman), Jeff Morrone, and Doug Belgrad. Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis (writers from The Blacklist) wrote the script.

The companies that are producing the television show are: Sony Pictures Television Studios, Jerry Bruckheimer Television, Primary Wave Entertainment, and 2.0 Entertainment.
