‘Arrested Development’ To Stay On Netflix

Deadline reports that Netflix has decided it will keep Arrested Development on the platform. The series was originally set to leave Netflix on March 15. Previously, the Netflix landing page stated the last day to watch would be Tuesday, March 14.

20th Television and Netflix reached a new licensing deal, leaving the show on Netflix. Later this year, Netflix will have exclusive streaming rights to all five seasons when the first three seasons of the series leave Hulu.

The Arrested Development revival was one of Netflix’s first original comedies. The first three seasons of the sitcom originally aired on Fox on November 2, 2003 and is produced by Imagine Television and 20th Television. The fourth season was released on Netflix on May 26, 2013 and the fifth season was released in two parts on May 29, 2018 and March 15, 2019.

The series follows the dysfunctional and wealthy family of the Bluths and  stars Jason Bateman (Ozark, Silver Spoons), Will Arnett (30 Rock, Bojack Horseman), Tony Hale (Veep, American Ultra), Alia Shawkat (Living with Yourself, The Old Man), Michael Cera (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Superbad), Portia De Rossi (Ally McBeal, Better Off Ted), Jeffrey Tambor, David Cross (Mr. Show with Bob and David, Station Eleven), Jessica Walter, (Archer, 90210) and Liza Minnelli (Arthur, Sex and the City 2). It is created by Mitch Hurwitz  (Running Wild, Lady Dynamite).
