Apple TV+’s ‘Slow Horses’ Renewed For Fifth Season

According to Deadline, the Apple TV+ series called Slow Horses has officially been renewed for a fifth season. This makes this show the first greenlit renewal of 2024. This show has become a successful hit for Apple TV+, this is because it aired its first season a mere eighteen months ago and has already moved on to a fifth season.

Slow Horses is an adaptation of the novels by Mick Herron. The fifth season of the show will take on the plot of a book in the series titled Spook Street, says Deadline. The plot follows as “Everyone is suspicious when resident tech nerd Roddy Ho (Christopher Chung) has a glamorous new girlfriend, but when a series of increasingly bizarre events occur across the city, it falls to the Slow Horses to work out how everything is connected.”

IMDB says that the overall plot of the show, however, is about “Slough House is a dumping ground for members of the intelligence service who’ve screwed up: left a service file on a train, blown a surveillance, or become drunkenly unreliable. They’re the service’s poor relations. The slow horses and most bitter among them is River Cartwright, whose days are spent transcribing mobile-phone conversations. But when a young man is abducted, and his kidnappers threaten to behead him live on the Internet, River sees an opportunity to redeem himself. But is the victim who he first appears to be? And what’s the kidnappers’ connection with a disgraced journalist? As the clock ticks on the execution, River finds that everyone involved has their own agenda.”

Deadline says that the cast includes actors such as Gary Oldman (Darkest Hour), Kristin Scott Thomas (The English Patient), Johnathon Pryce (The Crown), Jack Lowden (The Gold), Sasha Reeves (Close My Eyes), Rosalind Eleazar (Deep Water), Christopher Chung (Don’t Blame Me, Blame My Brain), Samuel West (All Creatures Great and Small), Sophie Okonedo (Heart of Stone), Aimee-Ffion Edwards (Skins), and Kadiff Kirwan (Chewing Gum)
