Apple TV’s ‘Severance’ Is “Back to work.”

Deadline reports that Severance returned to production after the Writers Guild of America and Screen Actors Guild strikes began in May 2023. The announcement came from Ben Stiller (Zoolander, Night at the Museum, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty) and Apple TV, who took to Instagram to inform fans of the show resuming production.

Severance is a show from creators Dan Erickson (Treasure Trouble, Severance, Welcome to Lumon) and Stiller. The series is exclusively available on Apple TV. A collaboration between Red Hour Productions and Fifth Season, the show is directed by Stiller and Aoife McArdle (Severance, All of This Unreal Time, Jon Hopkins: Open Eye Signal)

The show is about a team of employees at “Lumon Industries” who have undergone an operation that altered how their brains hold memories. Their memories are divided between their work and personal lives.

The series stars Adam Scott (Madame Web, Have a Good Trip: Adventures in Psychedelics, Little Evil), Patricia Arquette (Gonzo Girl, Otherhood, Permanent), Tramell Tillman (Severance, Dietland, Godfather of Harlem), Christopher Walken (The Deer Hunter, Dune 2, Catch Me If You Can), Jen Tullock (Before You Know It, 6 Balloons, Disengaged), Michael Chernus (Captain Phillips, Mistress America, Carol and the End of the World), Dichen Lachman (Altered Carbon, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Dollhouse), Britt Lower (Holly Slept Over, Man Seeking Woman, Mr. Roosevelt), and Zach Cherry (You Hurt My Feelings, Succession, Drunk Bus).

The Instagram post that announced the show’s return to production came from both Apple TV and Ben Stiller in the form of a joint post. The post features a black-and-white image of Scott running in a suit with cameras in view. The caption reads: “Back to work.”

“BEST SHOW EVER,” “Happy to see this,” “When???????? Have been anxiously awaiting ever since S1 Finale! Sweatin’ like Dylan over here!!!,” and  “This can’t come quicker.
