Apple TV+ Releases Trailer For ‘The Morning Show’ Season Three

Apple TV+’s hit drama about a daytime news program is soon-to-be back with another ten-episode season of The Morning Show. With star-studded cast including leads Jennifer Aniston (Friends, Bruce Almighty) and Reese Witherspoon (Legally Blonde, Big Little Lies), fans are eagerly awaiting the season three release on September 13. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the newly-dropped teaser, available below, offers insight into the main characters’ mindsets following the events of the season two finale.

Despite being only one minute long, the trailer depicts the four central characters, as well as introduces “tech titan” Paul Marks, played by Jon Hamm (Mad Men, The Town), who claims the news team needs “a miracle” and is offering “a lifeline.” Beginning with Witherspoon’s Bradley Jackson, the teaser captures the driving force behind the character with one line, “I wanted to make a difference.” Next is Aniston’s Alex Levy, who has been a co-anchor at UBA’s The Morning Show for fifteen years and continues to cling to the job as she has since the first episode of the Emmy-winning series: “I need to have a say in the future of this place.”

Billy Crudup (Gypsy, Spotlight)’s Cory Ellison, executive of UBA, declares his intention to move the company forward, despite its past failures and controversies with initial co-hosts Alex and Mitch Kessler (played by none other than The Office’s Steven Carell) and new host Bradley amidst the #MeToo movement and the COVID-19 pandemic — “I want to build something that matters, I want to win.” The president of UBA’s news division, Stella Bak, portrayed by Greta Lee (Russian Doll, Past Lives), is seemingly at her wit’s end, calling everything “smoke and mirrors.”

The cast for season three welcomes Nicole Beharie (Miss Juneteenth, Sleepy Hollow), Mark Duplass (Creep, The League), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Belle, Beyond the Lights), Karen Pittman (And Just Like That, Unthinkably Good Things), Marcia Gay Harden (So Help Me Todd, Code Black), Nestor Carbonell (Bates Motel, Lost), Bel Powley (Carrie Pilby, The King of Staten Island), Tom Irwin (The Bling Ring, Devious Maids), Desean Terry (God’s Army, Language Lessons), and Janina Gavankar (Big Sky, Blindspotting).

The Morning Show season three is set to debut its first two episodes on September 13, with the following episodes premiering weekly on Wednesdays.
