‘Only Murders in the Building’ on Hulu Releases Season Three Trailer

The official trailer for the third season of Only Murders in the Building was released on Hulu’s YouTube channel on Wednesday and quickly garnered millions of views in just a few hours. The new season is scheduled to be available for streaming on Hulu starting August 8th. Via The Hollywood Reporter, “… the first two episodes dropping during the season premiere. New episodes will stream weekly thereafter.” The main cast, including Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place), Martin Short (Father of the Bride), and Steve Martin (Cheaper by the Dozen), is joined by new additions Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Meryl Streep (The Devil Wears Prada), Jesse Williams (Grey’s Anatomy), and Ashley Park (Joy Ride).

The two and a half minute trailer showcases Mabel, Charles, and Oliver, played by Gomez, Martin, and Short, respectively, as they investigate a murder that occurs during Oliver’s Broadway show. The trailer is set up similarly to a “whodunit” murder mystery, with the narration revealing each character and providing their motives. Rudd portrays Ben Glenroy, the unfortunate murder victim. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “The trio works together to find clues and question persons of interest including Glenroy’s co-star Loretta Durkin (Meryl Streep), so Oliver can put his show back together.”  Streep joins the Only Murders in the Building cast with recurring role. In mid-January 2023, Gomez shared a video on her Instagram (@Selenagomez) revealing Streep and Rudd as new additions to the mystery and comedy drama show.” Park, a TikTok-addicted ingénue, catches the eye of Mabel, Charles, and Oliver as a potential suspect in the murder investigation. Williams joins the cast, with the trailer suggesting he’s there to lend his expertise to solving the murder, while also seemingly capturing Mabel’s attention romantically.

Steve Martin and John Hoffman (Grace and Frankie) co-created the multi-Emmy nominated show, first available for streaming on Hulu in 2021. There has been no shortage of well-known actors that have joined the cast and the third season is no exception. The suspense for the third season, just weeks away from viewing, keeps with the pattern of the show’s reputation for delivering gripping mysteries, unexpected plot twists, and compelling character dynamics. Fans eagerly await the unraveling of the intricate murder case, and with the introduction of new cast members like Streep and Rudd, the anticipation for the upcoming episodes reaches its peak. Fans can look forward to a double feature on August 8 to hold them until the next episode is released the following week.
