According to ScreenRant, Antony Starr (Outrageous Fortune) who plays Homelander on Prime Video’s series The Boys has recently given blunt words to fans of the series that idolize the character. To fans that idolize Homalnader Starr stated “You are missing the point.” In the series, the character of Homalander is a narcissistic sociopath that speaks to his fan base with overt patriotic rhetoric messages and as a result, a portion of the fans of the series have become attached to the character resulting in Starr speaking out.
While he spoke with the Los Angeles Times Starr about his thoughts on fans idolizing the character he said, “There’s a very strange thing that’s happened with the character, though he is clearly not a good guy. A lot of people have glommed onto him. There’s a weird element out there that actually kind of idolize him. I’ve seen some s— on Twitter and I’m like, ‘Wait, What? You are missing the point entirely! ”

The Boys is based on superheroes but instead of saving people for the sake of safety and justice, heroes are marketed to gain wealth. These heroes are not what they are known to be in the movies and comic books instead they are corrupted by their celebrity status which often puts not only the people but the planet as well in danger. This sets up the series to create a group of vigilantes whose sole mission is to take down the corrupt superheroes.
The cast includes Karl Urban (Star Trek), Jack Quaid (My Adventures with Superman), Erin Moriarty (The Kings of Summer), Jessie T. Usher (Dangerous Lies), Laz Alonso (Wrath of Man), Christopher Chace Crawford (The Covenant), Tomer Capone (One Week and Day), Nathan Mitchell (Supernatural), Karen Fukihara (Suicide Squad), and many others.
Season four of The Boys will premiere in the fall of 2023.
