Anthony Anderson and Hugh Dancy Join ‘Law & Order’ Revival

Black-ish star Anthony Anderson will return to NBC’s Law & Order revival, alongside Hugh Dancy (Hannibal). Anderson will be reprising his role from season 18 to 20, and sources at The Hollywood Reporter say that it will be a one-year deal.

Anderson will return as Detective Kevin Bernard in the upcoming 21st season of the procedural drama. Dancy will be playing an assistant district attorney.

Anderson is the first confirmed returning star to the revival. The new season is said to feature other notable Law & Order cast members, but it is unclear who is being eyed. Some notable past Law & Order stars included Steven Hill (Mission: Impossible), the late Jerry Orbach (Dirty Dancing), S. Epatha Merkerson (Chicago Med), Sam Waterson (Grace and Frankie), and Jesse L. Martin (Rent).

Anderson will be coming off of the last season of Black-ish as lead Andre Johnson, which premieres January 4 on ABC. Anderson was a regular during the final three seasons of Law & Order.

Dancy will be returning to NBC after previously starring as Will Graham in Hannibal. He will also be starring in the upcoming Downtown Abbey film, A New Era, coming to theaters in March.

Anderson and Dancy will be joining Jeffrey Donovan (Burn Notice) in the Law & Order revival. Law & Order will return on February 24.
