AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 9 Trailer and Premiere Date Have Been Released

During Comic-Con 2018 AMC’s The Walking Dead has released their first official trailer for the upcoming ninth season. The Comic-Con panel has been used to release the trailers for the show, and this season is much anticipated because of the creative reboot that is happening. The trailer also releases the premiere date for the new season, which will be on October 7th. As reported earlier, during the panel Andrew Lincoln is for sure leaving AMC landmark zombie series, The Walking Dead.

The trailer that has been released for the ninth season is a lengthy one, lasting over 5 minutes. Here it is:

This next season will pick up right where the conclusion of the war that the survivors and Negan along with his mean had. Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) is trying to bring peace to all the the survivors and create a utopian like society in a post-apocalyptic world filled with zombies. The footage primarily focused on Rick trying to build a new and better society; however, tensions are running high. Negan is of course still alive and tells Rick that when everything falls apart he should let Negan know.

Survivors clashed with other survivors making Rick’s dream of peace and safety seem only like a dream. There is also tensions between him and Daryl  Dixon (Norman Reedus), whom will become the next face to the series. In the trailer, Rick talks about being on the same side, but then Daryl replies, “We on the same side Rick?” He also states that this, “don’t feel right man.” Michonne (Danai Gurira) even says to Rick, “We don’t know if these people can forgive each other.”

The zombies will forever be the constant threat in the series this is shown at the very end with two survivors hiding from a horde of walkers, but it would also seem this season is going to also focus on the challenges of building multiple societies that are working together to not only survive but to also live. Angela Kang, the showrunner for season nine, even said that one of the theme to the new season will be, “what it means to have a civilization.”According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lincoln will have be leaving the show in a similar to co-star Lauren Cohan (Maggie).

Oh and let’s also not forget that the mysterious helicopter also many an appearance in the trailer as well.

Season 9 will air on October 7th on AMC. Things are changing for The Walking Dead, we will find out how much of a reboot it will be then.
