AMC Networks Has Acquired New Thriller Series ‘The Beast Must Die’

AMC Networks has acquired the six-part revenge thriller The Beast Must Die, announced in an AMC Network press release. Set to premiere later this year, the new thriller is produced in partnership with BritBox UK, New Regency Television International, and Ridley Scott’s Scott Free.

According to the AMC press release, the upcoming series will star Emmy & Golden Globe nominated actor, Jared Harris (Mad Men, Netflix’s The Crown), Cush Jumbo OBE (The Good Wife, The Good Fight), Billy Howle (The Serpent), Nathaniel Parker (The Outcast, Vanity Fair), and Geraldine James (Downton Abbey, Back To Life).

Harris recently starred in the HBO’s mini-series, Chernobyl. The series took place in April 1986, after an explosion at the Chernobyl Nuclear power plant in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Based of one of the most catastrophic events in history. Harris was also cast in the upcoming Marvel Studios & Sony horror fantasy production, Morbius. Harris can be seen in clips from the released trailer.

London born actor, Jumbo played Lucca Quinn on the CBS hit show The Good Wife. Continuing that same role over to CBS All Access’ The Good Fight, The Good Wife’s spinoff series. According to IMDb, the British actor is also set to start in another upcoming series, Stay Close. Where she stars alongside fellow brit, The Hobbit’s Richard Armitage.

The Beast Must Die series is based on the novel by Nicholas Blake of the same name. The premise of the six part series tells the story of a grieving mother who infiltrates the life of the man who she believes killed her son, according to the press release.

AMC President of programming Dan McDermott along with Ed Rubin, Head of New Regency Television International added some comments. From the AMC press release:

The press release reports, AMC Networks will be presenting a panel on The Beast Must Die at the virtual Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour on February 18.
