Amazon Acquires Streaming Rights to USA’s ‘Falling Water’

Amazon may have just breathed some new life into Falling Water.

Deadline reports that Amazon has landed exclusive streaming rights to USA’s supernatural thriller series. Falling Water, which follows three unrelated people who are dreaming separate parts of a single shared dream, comes from Henry Bromell, Blake Masters, and Gale Anne Hurd. It stars Lizzie Brochere, David Ajala, and Will Yun Lee.

The announcement of the Amazon deal is good news for fans of Falling Water, because it means the series now has a better shot at getting a second season order. Though the show hasn’t been a ratings hit for USA, pulling in an average of 450,000 viewers in Live+Same Day ratings, its viewership has been very consistent.

This multi-platform deal strategy previously helped save USA’s passionately adored comedy Playing House, a series that, like Falling Water, has a small, but loving fanbase. The Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair series was up in the air after its first season until USA struck up a deal with Xfinity and picked it up for a second season.

Falling Water is executive produced by Hurd, Masters, and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. Bromell, who passed away in 2013, was credited posthumously as an executive producer on the pilot, which he co-wrote with Masters.
