30 Rock‘s Alec Baldwin could be exporting his services to MSNBC. Baldwin would be hosting a weekly program on the cable news network, in attempt to increase ratings that have recently been in decline, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The show is so far untitled but will air Fridays at 10 p.m. ET with content consisting of Baldwin’s “outspoken liberal politics,” according to source that notified Mediaite.com about Baldwin’s potential show.
The progressive viewpoints on the network seem to be a good match for Baldwin’s “fiercely liberal and often combative political views” and his history with the NBC family, according to Mediaite.com.
Baldwin’s show will not replace any of the network’s primetime talk shows, but instead will stand in for the Lockup prison documentary series that airs Friday evenings.
MSNBC source denied confirmation of Baldwin’s possiblity to host his own show on the network, according to Mediaite.com.
