Adult Swim Announces September 4th Release Date For ‘Rick And Morty’ Season 6

Adult Swim announced on Wednesday that the sixth season of their popular animated comedy series Rick And Morty will premiere on the network on September 4th, according to TVLine. These will be the show’s first episodes since September 2021, when their fifth season ended.

The official logline for the sixth season of Rick And Morty reads, per TVLine: “It’s season six and Rick and Morty are back! Pick up where we left them, worse for wear and down on their luck. Will they manage to bounce back for more adventures? Or will they get swept up in an ocean of piss! Who knows?! Piss! Family! Intrigue! A bunch of dinosaurs! More piss! Another can’t miss season of your favorite show.”

Michael Ouweleen, President of Adult Swim and Cartoon Network, released a statement on the show’s upcoming sixth season.

“It’s hard to overstate the impact of Rick and Morty. More than a hit show, it is truly a global phenomenon,” Ouweleen said, per TVLine. “As we prepare to launch this soon-to-be iconic season, we will be giving fans a unique way to be part of the fun — so keep your eyes peeled.”

The popularity of the series resulted in a spinoff series order from Adult Swim in May, when it was announced that the network had ordered 10 episodes of the upcoming series Rick And Morty: The Anime.

Rick And Morty is created by Dan Harmon (Dope State) and Justin Roiland (Gravity Falls), who voices both Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith in the show. The show also stars the voices of Chris Parnell (Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy), Spencer Grammer (The Barbarian And The Troll), and Sarah Chalke (Firefly Lane). Executive producers for the series include Roiland, Harmon, Keith Crofford (Robot Chicken), Ollie Green (Little Bill), Mike Lazzo (Children’s Hospital), Delna Bhesania (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Barry Ward (Happily N’Ever After), Ryan Ridley (The Wastelander), and the late J. Michael Mendel (The Simpsons).
