The network officially renewed the series for two additional seasons, securing new episodes until at least 2029. The announcement during the show’s panel sent waves of excitement through the fanbase, promising even more of the chaotic, interdimensional adventures that have made the show a hit. Attendees at the Comic-Con panel were also treated to an exclusive first-look teaser from a season eight episode, which is set to premiere in 2025.
As mentioned by Deadline’s recent report, Rick and Morty, created by Justin Roiland (Fish Hooks, Gravity Falls, Adventure Time) and Dan Harmon (Community, Strange Planet, Acceptable TV), has been a cornerstone of Adult Swim’s lineup since its debut. The show follows the deranged genius Rick Sanchez, who drags his hesitant grandson Morty into dangerous and often absurd adventures across multiple universes. Since its launch, the series has become a cultural phenomenon, with its sharp humor, complex storytelling, and memorable characters.
Now heading into season seven, the voice cast will see Ian Cardoni (Clear History, The Unwanted Gift, Teenage Christ) taking over as Rick and Harry Belden (Christmas Again, Joe Pera Talks With You) as Morty, following Roiland’s exit from the show.
