ABC Stewing Idea of ‘Star Wars’ TV Show Spin-off

ABC is thinking over the possibility of creating  TV shows based on various “Star Wars” characters, according to president of Disney’s ABC Entertainment Group, Paul Lee.

It was last fall when ABC’s parent company Disney purchased Lucasfilm for $4.1 billion and desired to milk out the franchise.

Upon the purchase, Disney noted their intentions of making another triology (at least) of “Star Wars”. The first one set to be released in 2015, “Episode VII” will be directed by JJ Abrams and John Williams will make a return to compose the score. Each movie in the triology will be released every two or three years, according to Indiewire.

Stand-alone spin-off movies are currently being worked on by Larry Kasdan and Simon Kinberg that planned to be released between each movie of the triology which lends itself to the recent news of the possibility of a spin-off TV series also based on select characters, according to Indiewire.

There is no information on which characters will have their own spin-off movie or TV show.
