Episode 2 begins with Ben talking to Cat about Flint. Janet brings up how he turned into sand, and Cat explains that this started 6 months ago, and is getting worse. Ben, who knows she’s hiding something, decides to go to Flint’s apartment. Ben picks the lock, and starts to look around for clues, when Winston suddenly knocks on the door. Ben quickly hides just as Winston and another guy head in, nearly getting caught.
Back at the office, Janet shows Ben the arrest record for Flint Marko, detailing arrest, after arrest, after arrest, before finally working for Silvermane. Ben then shows Janet a picture he found in the apartment, which shows the squadron in the battle of Meuse-Argonne that Ben was in. This picture reveals that Flint and Addison were in the war together, showing that Cat hid the fact that Flint was friends with a superpowered individual.
After Ben goes to the Alcove to speak with Cat about this, Ben heads to his apartment, when his spider sense starts tingling. Somebody tries to swing at him, and though he initially dodges it, he is eventually beaten and kidnapped by the two men. In the car, they reveal to Ben that Silvermane just wants to talk to him, but before they can get there, Ben socks the guy in the face and jumps out of the car, and hangs under the bridge, losing them.
Robbie then goes looking for the Addison’s residence, since he was given permission by his old job to do the story. Robbie finds the home of the Addisons, but they are nowhere to be found. Suddenly, a man comes in and questions Robbie on what he’s doing there. Robbie tells the man that he is doing a story about Jimmy’s death and wanted to speak to his widow, shocking the man, since they were friends. The man then Jimmy’s wife might know and that she might be at Geoffrey Hotel.
After Janet is threatened by Silvermane’s men, Ben pretends to be maintenance to gain access to a resident’s house to “fix a leak.” He breaks down the bathroom walls, and acquires the Spider suit he had hidden years ago. While Silvermane and his men are transporting liquor, one of the men sees the Spider swinging after them. After taking out the guards, he goes and tells Silvermane to leave Ben Reilly and his people alone, or he’ll kill him. Later on, Ben gets a call from Robbie, who tells him that the cops had an ambush set up for Silvermane at the docks, but since Ben stopped him, they only got his goons.
After watching this in color and in black and white, it seems like it would be better to watch this in black in white. The color is alright, but the black and white gives it that true Noir experience. All in all, this episode was good just like the last one.
