Review: ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2, Episode 6 “Requiem”

In episode 6, Daredevil and Karen argue about killing enemies, more conflicts arise, and Daredevil gets help from another ally. This season has brought up killing people a few times now, and it seems like this episode is once again bringing the morality of killing enemies into question. It’s a wonder if Daredevil might break his own code in a future episode. He likely won’t, but it’s an interesting possibility to think of.

There was a small thing in this episode, and it had to do with the editing. It was during one of the fight scenes. And while it was a minor thing, it was definitely noticeable and would catch you off guard a bit. To summarize it, someone gets knocked out with a weapon by Daredevil, and he has to pick up Jessica off the ground. The guy didn’t even fall, and Daredevil picks Jess up off the ground. It felt weird, but not terrible.

The episode once again had a bit of a slower start, but then picked up a bit as it started to go on. The more seriousness tone first detected in episode 5 continues, culminating into more potentially deadly chaos. It makes you wonder just how much more New York will begin to crumble and fall apart under the deadly leadership of Fisk. One final thing: the final fight was cool, and while it didn’t feel pointless, it did feel like it was more of a way to show Daredevil giving a message, as not much came of it.

Overall, the episode was decent with the long-awaited arrival of a teased Defender. It’s more serious tone is leading to unstable chaos and conflicts, as our character contemplates their moral compass. While there was a minor thing with the editing in one fight scene, it wasn’t enough to ruin the entire episode.

Zach Zucconi: I am a 20-year-old from New Jersey. I graduated with an Associate's of the Arts and recently graduated with a Bachelor's in Communications. I have taken part in the university television station where I was able to act in a show and work behind the scenes. I also have hosted a radio show and have been able to learn the mechanical workings on how the radio shows operate. I have always been interested in different video games growing up and have recently become more interested in movies, film, radio, and screenplay. I have created many characters and have many ideas for different movies, video games, and shows. Besides creating the characters and stories, I believe I would also like to take part in them as well.
