Yetide Badaki joins NBC drama ‘This is Us’ in recurring role

Yetide Badaki has joined the NBC drama series This Is Us in a recurring role. Badaki is most known for her role as Bilquis in American Gods. She will be playing a Nigerian immigrant from William’s (Ron Cephas Jones) past. She met William when she moved into his building, in which she appeared in both flashbacks and the present storyline during this past Tuesday’s episode. William befriended Chichi, who at the time was a young widow struggling with her infant daughter, Sky.

The show, created by Dan Fogelman, has been Emmy nominated for Outstanding Drama Series for both of the first two seasons and is off to another promising start this fall. Season 3 premiered this September 25 with 10.5 million viewers.

On Starz’s American Gods she plays an ancient love deity (Bilquis), an ancient goddess of love who craves the worship she inspired in eras long gone, caught in a brewing war between Old Gods and New Gods. Her other credits include K.C. UndercoverSequesteredNCIS: New Orleans, and Masters of Sex.

This is Us is on Tuesdays at 9/8c.
