According to Deadline, the current Writers Guild of America’s writer strike has stopped the current work of many TV series and it seems like The Mandalorian will also be coming to stop. The Disney+ series is most likely to push its production start for season four due to the strike. Although the fourth season has not officially been announced it has been expected. The expectation grew larger earlier this year when creator Jon Favreau (Iron Man) confirmed that the script for the new installment was finished.
According to Deadline, during the WGA strike, no writer will be present on set. This will interrupt production on the series as many crew members will refuse to cross picketing lines to enter the set. This has happened to many series and is now affecting Disney shows as it recently did to Daredevil: Born Again where crew members refused to cross the picketing lines. It is stated that the production of season four has been slated until September. With no writers on set, it will be hard to push forward with the series.
The Mandalorian is an original Disney+ series by Favreau that premiered in November 2019. It focuses on a lone bounty hunter in the outer parts of the galaxy far from the New Republic. The series is set after the fall of the Empire and before the First Order. The series cast includes Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us), Carl Weathers (Happy Gilmore), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica), Chris Bartlett (The Book of Boba Fett), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Brendan Wayne (Sons of Anarchy), Misty Rosas (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), Leilani Shiu (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Gina Carano (Deadpool)k, and many others.
All current seasons of The Mandalorian are available to stream on Disney+ along with other series that are part of the Star Wars universe.
