Watch the Latest Trailer for HBO’s New Comedy/Drama, ‘Succession’

Entertainment Weekly reported on Monday that HBO has dropped a second trailer for its upcoming series, Succession. The razor sharp black comedy/drama has some impressive talent at its back: Succession is produced by Adam McKay (writer and director of The Big Short), Jesse Armstrong (writer of acclaimed British comedies Peep Show and The Thick of It), and iconic comedian Will Ferrell.

Succession follows the story of the Roy family, which sits in control of an expansive media company whose influence reaches across the globe. The family encounters a huge issue when the head of their company, Logan Roy (played by Brian Cox) announces he’ll be stepping down.

Other members of the Roy clan include Logan’s children Roman (Kieran Culkin), Roman (Jeremy Strong), Siobhan (Sarah Snook), and Connor (Alan Ruck). All four siblings are forced to reconsider the future of the company as well as their own futures when their father makes his big announcement.

Adam McKay is director on each episode of the series, while Jesse Armstrong wrote the scripts. Speaking on the project, McKay said, “There’s no question that Succession, at its root, is a family story. There’s also a tragic side to it, where you see how massive wealth and power distorts and twists and wounds this family.”

Succession premieres on HBO this June.
