Earlier in August, HBO released the first teaser for the revived show, Project Green Light. But recently HBO has released the show’s first full trailer (via Entertainment Weekly).
Project Green Light is produced by Sean Bailey and Chris Moore alongside stars Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. HBO has revived the series after its last run ten years ago which we reported on in early August. Now the docuseries is back for its fourth season. The docuseries gives first time filmmakers chance to bring a Hollywood script to life. Project Greenlight takes audiences behind the scenes of filmmaking and shows what it takes to make a movie in Hollywood. Originally, Project Greenlight aired on HBO for two seasons until it got switched to Bravo. Ten years later, the docuseries has returned to HBO. In its fourth season, Project Greenlight will follow competition winner Jason Mann who is “light-years beyond what we had in seasons 1, 2, and 3” (Entertainment Weekly).
In Miramax’s press release both Matt Damon and Ben Affleck commented on Project Greenlight. Matt Damon made a statement about the previous seasons, “Careers have been launched and sustained as a direct result of this contest. Pete Jones, John Gulager, Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan are just a few of the PGL alums who’ve gone on to do great things in Hollywood, and Ben and I are really proud of that”. Ben Affleck went on by noting “Project Greenlight was ahead of its time. Now that technology has caught up to the concept, we thought it was a perfect time to bring it back. A whole new generation of filmmakers has grown up sharing everything, and the next big director could be just an upload away. It is really great having Project Greenlight back at HBO”.
