

On November 19, 2025, TV publicity executive Robert Pietranton passed away at age 56. Pietranton was born on November 10, 1969 born in Virginia and grew up in Las Vegas. The Hollywood Reporter mentions that Pietranton was a graduate of Loyola Marymount University, he began his career at Levin Schneider PR before his move to NBC.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Pietranton worked with Warner Bros. TV for over 20 years and was able to rise through the ranks and became a senior VP publicity and communications for the studio back in 2021. His career also included time at Sony Pictures TV, Dreamworks Television, and NBC. The CEO and chairman of Warner Bros. Television Group, Channing Dungey (Instead Of Me, The Big Bounce), spoke highly of Pietranton and had this to say, “he was the heart and soul of not just our publicity department, but of our broader studio. Throughout his 20-plus year tenure, he was our confidant, our voice of reason, and our first stop in a brewing crisis. Beyond his impeccable reputation within our industry, he was importantly our friend. His kindness and warm laugh will be deeply missed. We are heartbroken beyond measure and are keeping him and his family in our thoughts and prayers.”
Pietranton’s career involved PR work for hundreds of shows. The Hollywood Reporter noted that Pietranton was apart of shows such as ER, The West Wing, Ted Lasso, the CW’s Arrow-verse, The Big Bang Theory, Abbott Elementary, and The Pitt. It was said that Pietranton was known for his willingness to help and mentor his younger colleagues who were entering the business. According to Deadline, Pietranton was known for his loyalty and easy going nature and that he had no ego, always shunning the spotlight and his innate ability to turn colleagues into life long friends.
Piertranton died at his home in Los Angeles, he will be missed but his contributions will not go unnoticed. Pietranton is survived by his brother Ryan Pietranton and his nephews Michael and Matthew.
