Vanessa Bayer Departing ‘SNL’ After 7 Seasons

Just days after the announcement of the departure of longtime Saturday Night Live cast member Bobby MoynihanSNL‘s Vanessa Bayer has announced that she will be leaving the show as well.

Variety reports that Bayer’s decision to leave comes just as her contract with SNL was up. Bayer has been a part of the SNL family for seven years, joining the cast in 2010 as a featured player before moving up in the ranks. Bayer is the longest-serving female cast member on the NBC series, at least until her final appearance tonight.

Bayer broke the news to fans the same day as the season 42 finale, hosted by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and featuring musical guest Katy Perry, is set to air. The Johnson-hosted episode marks the final episode for both Bayer and Moynihan.

Bayer made the announcement on Instagram, sharing a picture of a goodbye sketch from fellow SNL member Colin Jost. Bayer wrote, “Thank you SNL for 7 years of laughs, love and incredible memories. It has been a dream come true”.

Bayer first broke out on SNL thanks to her take on Miley Cyrus. She was also known for her impression of Rachel from Friends (eventually appearing with Aniston on Weekend Update), Jacob the Bar Mitzvah Boy, and “J-Pop America Fun Time Now!” co-host Rebecca Stern-Markowicz.
