Deadline has reported in an exclusive that the cast of NCIS: New York has added four new actors to star as series regulars in the upcoming crime drama spinoff launching this fall. Shane Harper (Take Me Home, Awkward), Devin Druid (13 Reasons Why, Founders Day), Jennifer Beals (Footloose, The Book of Eli), and Jacqueline Byers (Dark Winds, Diggstown) will be featured alongside previously announced series leads LL Cool J (Mindhunters, Last Holiday) and Scott Caan (Ocean’s Eleven, Hawaii Five-O).
NCIS: New York, via Deadline, follows the homecoming of NCIS Special Agent Sam Hanna (last seen in NCIS: Los Angeles) to his hometown of NYC and its NCIS Field Office. Partnered with the roguish Special Agent Nick Schaeffer (Caan), the two lead a new team through high-stakes missions in defense of one of the most vital cities and ports in the world.
Beals is reportedly cast as the female lead, reports Deadline – as Assistant Special Agent in Charge Robyn Wells, director of the NCIS New York field office and both Sam and Nick’s boss. She’s a pillar, often leading with her intuition and widely respected by her team. Beals is best known for her critically acclaimed role in Flashdance, but has also held credits for films such as Before I Fall and Luckiest Girl Alive, with television credits for The L Word as both an actress and an executive producer for the sequel The L Word: Generation Q.
Detailed by Deadline, the incoming Harper, Druid, and Byers will serve as the aforementioned team’s members:
Harper, as NCIS Special Agent Wyatt Hill, is fearless, sharp, highly skilled in the field and a hopeless romantic. Most recently, Harper held a series regular position on Starz’s Power Book IV: Force. He had also worked prior as a main cast member of works such as A Teacher, Happyland, and Hightown. Harper is represented by Jackoway Austen Tyerman, Gersh, and Luber Roklin.
Druid, playing NCIS Tech Specialist Sean Sullivan, is sharp of wit and bright of mind, yet resistant to authority. He held a main role in the series 13 Reasons Why as Tyler Down, and also has parts in films Cam and The Man in the Woods, with his upcoming film Crossed in post-production. He is represented by Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown & Passman, and Untitled Entertainment.
Byers, as NCIS Special Agent Addison “Addy” Ross, is a tough and solid agent, resourceful but searching for something to help prove herself. Known for her series regular role on CBS’ Salvation as Jillian Hayes, Byers’s credits include films such as Shadow of God and Forbidden Fruits, as well as television appearances for Showtime’s Roadies and Dark Winds from AMC. She is repped by SCESD Talent Agency, Stand Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
NCIS: New York, per Deadline, is produced by CBS Studios and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution. Executive producers are listed as; Byron Balasco, Jason Barrett, Adam Davidson, Kyle Harimoto, R. Scott Gemmill, and series star LL Cool J. Balasco also serves as the series’ showrunner.
As stated prior, the series will launch in the fall on CBS as a part of a new NCIS-branded Tuesday, with next-day streaming available on Paramount+.
