Prime Video’s Cancelled Series ‘The Tick’ Is Coming To Netflix

Hey superhero fans, are you looking for a series to watch? In just one week Netflix will have 2016’s The Tick on its streaming service for all to see.

For those who don’t know, The Tick is a series that tells a story about an enthusiastic, nigh-invulnerable, and dim witted blue suited superhero with the help of his sidekick Arthur who band together to protect “The City” from a bizarre array of absurd supervillains. On Prime Video the series ran for two seasons and was later cancelled despite the series earning great ratings from both critics and the audience. According to Comicbook, showrunner Susan Hurwitz Arneson (Middlemost Post, Preacher) issued this statement regarding the series’ cancellation, “We were canceled because there was a regime change at Amazon. The people who loved the show and were our champions were let go, and the people coming in had zero interest in The Tick. Hence, the lack of season two marketing and sh*t position we had to beg for at NYCC. We tried to find a new home, but the first two seasons would have stayed on Amazon, and no one was interested in not having them all.”

The cast consists of Peter Serafinowicz (Saturday Night Live UK, Strip Law), Griffin Newman (The George Lucas Talk Show, The Muppet Show), Valorie Curry (The Boys, Gen V), Brendan Hines (Chicago Med, Brilliant Minds), Yara Martinez (Beef, Matlock), Scott Speiser (The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, Chris & Jack), Alan Tudyk (Grimsburg, Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: an Almost History of America), Devin Ratray (Better Call Saul, Kimi), Jackie Earle Haley (Family Movie, Tuesday’s Flu), Patricia Kalember (Power Book IV: Force, Power Book II: Ghost), Joshua Schubart (Doctor Doctor, Friendship), François Chau (Holdo’s Most Wanted: A Live Staged Reading of Star Wars – The Last Jedi, Child of the Rouge), and Kahlil Ashanti (Supernatural, The Break).

The series will be on Netflix on July 15, 2026.
