“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” Releases Season Two Trailer

After months of waiting, fans of Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt don’t have much longer to wait until the show premieres. For the more impatient fans, Netflix released the first full-length trailer for the show on March 14, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The trailer, which was released Monday morning (what a way to get rid of those Monday blues!), shows the return of all our New York favorites, including Kimmy (Ellie Kemper), her roommate Titus (Tituss Burgess), landlord Lillian (Carol Kane) and Kimmy’s boss Jacqueline Voorhes (Jane Krakowski).

The trailer makes it appear that there will be more brilliant dialogue from the show, which was created by Tina Fey, originally for NBC.

The trailer starts off with Kimmy in a year-round Christmas store, making the stuck-in-the-90s lead happy and she drops off her resume, hoping she’s able to get the job. It also shows Mrs. Voorhes back in New York andKimmy learns a new catchphrase about trophy wives (“lose the jerks but keep the perks”). Kimmy also gets excited about seeing a possible love-interest in the restaurant where she pees. In her excitement, she runs back to the apartment to tell Titus, only for her to discover he’s upset because she didn’t get his digits, something Titus has always told her is the most important thing, among others.

The trailer then gets slightly heavier-toned, as Kimmy says all she wants is to get her life back and she’s shown in school again. There’s also an adorable scene where Kimmy watches a video of a cat and bunny, who are best friends and are taking care of each other as she sings some narration to the video.

The trailer also promises more roommate banter between Kimmy and Titus, including “Kimbecile” and “sassafrass jeans.” The banter was something prominent during the first season of the show.

The first season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt premiered on Netflix in 2015. The first season revolved around Kimmy Schmidt, who was held in an underground doomsday bunker for 15 years by Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne, who was portrayed by Jon Hamm. The first season dealt with Kimmy adjusting to modern day life, as she went into the bunker in the 1990s.

Tina Fey and Jerry Minor also guest-starred in the first season as Marcia and Chris, spoofs of the two prosecutors from the OJ Simpson trial.

The show is set to premiere on Netflix on April 15, 2016. According to TVLine, the show was renewed for its third season on Jan. 17, 2016.
