‘Twin Peaks’ is Coming to San Diego Comic-Con

After the highly anticipated wait, David Lynch’s Twin Peaks has returned to television and bowled audiences over with its masterful blend of surrealism, dramatic storytelling, and first-rate filmmaking. Now, Showtime is bringing Twin Peaks to this year’s Comic-Con International: San Diego with a cast panel interview and an advanced screening of Twin Peaks Part 11. Both events will occur on Friday, June 21.

Cast members Kyle MacLachlan, Tim Roth, Dana Ashbrook, Kimmy Robertson, Everett McGill, Matthew Lillard, James Marshall, Don Murray and Naomi Watts will be on the panel moderated by Damon Lindelof, creator of such hit series as Lost and The Leftovers. Later that night, Showtime will provide an advanced screening of Part 11 of Twin Peaks two days before it hits the air that Sunday. The full schedule of Twin Peaks events are listed below.

Twin Peaks Schedule at San Diego Comic-Con

Friday, July 21:

– 2:45 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. – Panel session in Hall H

– 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. –  Autograph signing at the Entertainment Earth Booth (San Diego Convention Center, #2343)

David Lynch directs all episodes of the Twin Peaks revival. Lynch also wrote and executively produced the series with his Twin Peaks partner Mark Frost. The 18-part series takes place 25 years after the events of Season 2. The latest season is perhaps the most successful installation of the entire series; Vulture, in their annual TV Awards, recently named the newest season of Twin Peaks as the best show on television, proclaiming the show masterpiece. The most recent Part 8, which hit television at the end of June, was met with lavish praise by both critics and fans alike, with many likening it to Terence Malick’s Palm d’Or-winning expressionist drama The Tree of Life.

Part 9, whose airdate was pushed off to this weekend, will air this Sunday, July 9th. New episodes of Twin Peaks Season 3 can be seen on Showtime on Sundays at 9 p.m.
