According to Deadline, timing is everything for the South Park creators Matt Stone (Organzmo, Team America: World Police) and Trey Parker (Despicable Me 3, BASEketball). Days after their show reached $1.5 billion streaming deal with Paramount+, less than 24 hours after their Season 27 premiere that depicted Donald Trump in bed with the devil, and hours after the FCC approval of the Skydance-Paramount merger, Stone and Parker were in the limelight of Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con.

A Trump administration source released a statement that reads, “The President is seething over the childish attack by South Park,” Deadline reported.

Deadline states that when the moderator of tonight’s Comic-Con Comedy Central Animation asked them for a response regarding last night’s premiere, Parker replied with an impassive, “We’re terribly sorry.”

For the vast majority of the panel, which included Andy Samberg (Hot Rod, Hotel Transylvania) and Mike Judge (Beavis and Butthead, Idiocracy), the South Park creators did not address the elephant in the room, with some exceptions, Deadline adds.

Parker noted that last night’s episode came together three days ago, in South Park’s typical last minute fashion; “We were like, ‘I don’t know if people are going to like this.’ We were reading stuff in the newspaper, and were like, ‘Let’s put that in there!’”

The premiere of South Park, “Sermon on the Mount” had Trump complaining about the size of his manhood in an official painting, followed by him crawling into bed with Satan, only to be rejected by him. There were numerous other Trump references, including Cartman upset over NPR’s cancellation, POTUS suing the town for $5 after a riot, and Satan confronting Trump about the Epstein list rumors, Deadline mentions.

When talking about their process for the premiere, Parker stated “I’m like,‘We’re not going to blur the penis.’” Stone added, “If we put eyes on the penis, we won’t blur it. That was a whole conversation with grown up people for four f*cking days!” Deadline reports.

The moderator joked that a subpoena is coming Stone and Parker’s way, Deadline added, and Parker responded “It’s fine man — I’m ready.”

Parker added that back in February the guys had to make a promo for the new season, “We showed a whole bunch of clips that we made up for the promo.” However, they received angry responses from fans, who were under the impression that the duo would create episodes in advance to avoid any hot topics, Deadline says.

Parker exclaimed, “You seriously think we made a bunch of shows ahead of time and baked them for later? We’re not doing any of that!” Stone then joked, “No politics, none of that shit.”

Under the new Skydance regime, Paramount has more Stone and Parker in store as they are producing an untitled Kendrick Lamar live action comedy. This comedy is directed by Dave Free (Kendrick Lamar: Not Like Us, Kendrick Lamar: Count Me Out), and it is set for March 20, 2026, Deadline notes.

Parker and Stone received the Comic-Con Inkpot Award for Best Animation at the end of tonight’s session, Deadline finally stated.
