Tony Hale And Sam Richardson Will Be Joining ‘Critical Role’ For A Tabletop Game Fundraiser

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tony Hale (Arrested Development) and Sam Richardson (The Afterparty) will be joining Critical Role for special tabletop game fundraiser. Both actors who are former castmates on Veep are reteaming up for a one-shot tabletop-based campaign which is meant to be a fundraiser in collaboration with the non-profit Comic Relief US. The actors will appear as part of a special episode on Tuesday, November 28th. This will benefit the Red Nose Day campaign which raises funds in support of children affected by poverty, systemic inequity, and injustice globally.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the chief creative officer and game master of Critical Role Mathew Mercer (Thundercats)  will be guiding both actors as well as fellow Critical Role co-founders Liam O’Brien (Asura’s Wrath), Laura Bailey (Spider-Man) and Taliesin Jaffe (The Legend of Vox Machina). The campaign is a fan-influenced journey and takes place among the islands of the Shattered Teeth. This will mark the third time that Critical Role will be hosting a choose your adventure-style fundraising campaign tied to Red Nose Day.

Below is a Twitter post promoting the fundraiser.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, fans will be able to allocate donations through the Critical Role’s Tiltify page starting on October 25th and ending on November third towards different story elements for the Giving Tuesday episode. With the donations, fans will have the ability to control the characters and class the cast plays, the evil they fight, and much more. The highest donation by the end of November third will have the decisions of the campaign in their favor.

Critical Role consists of professional voice actors who banded together to role-play their way through different Dungeon and Dragons campaigns. Other than Mercer, O’Brien, Bailey, and Jaffe cast members of the series include Travis Willingham (Avengers  Assemble), Marisha Ray (Malibu Horror Story), Sam Reigel (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles),  Ashley Johnson (The Last of Us) and many others.

Critical Role’s Giving Tuesday episode will air live on Twitch and YouTube channels on November  28th. Critical Role streams every Thursday on Twitch at 10 p.m.
