Timothy Omundson Cast in Carol Burnett Pilot ‘Household Name’

Timothy Omundson is about to become Carol Burnett’s gay best friend.

Deadline reports that the former Psych and Galavant star has been cast alongside Burnett in ABC’s multi-camera comedy pilot Household Name. He is set to play Edward Von Glimpse, a classy, witty gay man that Vivian Valmont (Burnett) relies on for encouragement and friendship.

Household Name centers on a family that gets a deal on a house that is just too good to be true, and it is. The one catch is that the family must share the house with the original owner, aging former movie star Vivian Valmont. Hopefully Valmont is not a Norma Desmond or Baby Jane Hudson type.

Omundson most recently starred as King Richard on ABC’s Galavant, and is probably most well known for his role as Detective Carlton Lassiter on USA’s long-running series Psych. Omundson was also a regular for a long while on the Amy Brenneman-starring Judging Amy.

Household Name is written by Michael Saltzman (The Middle, Wings, Murphy Brown). Saltzman executive produces along with Amy Poehler, Brooke Posch, Dave Becky and Michael Pelmont. ABC originally ordered the pilot back in October.
