AMC’s signature TV series, The Walking Dead, is ready to make its comeback one of last times. A trailer of the final season part II is now available, via the official Youtube channel. This will be the second part of the 11th season of the iconic series.
The Walking Dead is one of the most famous and popular zombie series. Since its debut in 2010, the show attracted millions of audiences stably. The first episode of the fifth season, No Sanctuary, garnered 17.29 million viewers. This episode became one of the most-watched series episodes in cable history. TWD features a story happening in a post-apocalyptic world where the remaining survivors have to survive zombie attacks. However, the zombie attack isn’t the only thing that endangers their fate. The destruction of modern society and civilization turns the world into a lawless and anarchic state. Survivors also have to battle distrust, conflicts, and other issues among themselves.
“We survived everything for what? Keep fighting and killing each other? ” The trailer begins with a scene where the survivors confront one another. The trailer hints that the upcoming season will focus on the group’s encounter with the Commonwealth, a large network of communities that has advanced equipment and over fifty thousand survivors living in their different settlements.
We’re also promised with some heat moments of the group’s interaction with the Reapers, a mysterious faction of hostile survivors that attacked and took Meridian. As the governor of the Commonwealth speaks in the trailer, “we’re going to put our world back to the way it was.” But will that happen so easily? We will have to find out when the series is available.
Joining the latest season are some familiar faces such as Norman Reedus (The Boondock Saints), Melissa McBride (Living Proof), Lauren Cohan (The Vampire Diaries), Christian Marie Bernardi (Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide), Josh McDermitt (Retired At 35), and more. Angela Kang (Terriers) will continue to serve as the frontrunner of the show.
The Covid-19 pandemic delayed the production and release of the final season. Scheduled to premiere in 2020, the first part eventually launched in August 2021, on AMC. The final season, entitled “The Final Season Trilogy”, contains 24 episodes that will be split into three eight-episode airing blocks, with the series concluding in 2022.
Part two returns on February 20th at 9/8c on AMC. On AMC+, each episode of the season will be made available a week before its broadcast date.
